Olha Yezhova and Dmytro Voropaiev completed a certified ISWP Basic Level course for wheelchair service providers from November 24 to 28 at the Recovery Rehabilitation Center of Dnipro City Clinical Hospital No. 4. The training was conducted under the guidance of National Trainers. Participation in the course contributed to strengthening the professional competencies of the faculty members in the field of assistive technology and rehabilitation services. The acquired knowledge and skills will be further applied in both clinical practice and the educational process.
The World Health Organization (WHO), in cooperation with a number of Ukrainian universities that implement formal education programs for physical therapists and occupational therapists, coordinated discussions on the future integration of the standardized WHO–ISWP Basic Level training module into university curricula.
The training program included a comprehensive theoretical component as well as hands-on practical skills training with patients who require wheelchair assessment, fitting, adjustment, and user training.
